Applications are invited for a postdoctoral scientist position in Theoretical Biophysics at Emory University in the group of Professor Ilya Nemenman. We study a variety of problems on the interface of physics and biology. The current foci are on (1) studying collective information processing and adaptive phenomena in molecular and neural circuits, (2) modeling C. elegans behavior and its neural control, and (3) developing techniques for coarse-grained modeling of complex biological systems; (4) modeling motor control and learning in songbirds. Applicants are expected to have a PhD and a strong publication record in theoretical physics, quantitative biology, computational neuroscience, or a related field. Experience in modeling empirical biological data is a plus.

Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Please send a CV, publications list, a brief description of your research experience, and a list of three references to ilya.nemenman@emory.edu.

Emory University is AA/EEO employer.
