Back to Physics 380, 2011: Information Processing in Biology. We are proceeding with the dynamical information processing block. In the next couple of lectures, we will follow the article by Detwiler et al., 2000.

Student Presentation

Emily Reiser has talked about the paper by Raser and O'Shea, 2004

Unfinished

Main lecture

  1. We follow Detwiler et al., 2000, article in this lecture.
  2. We discussed the basic structure of the vertebrate eye, which consists of rods and cones. We will return to
  3. Focusing on cones, we presented the kinetic diagram of signal transduction in the cones, Fig. 2, focusing on multiple of the on-off protein activation loops.
  4. We assumed that all enzymes work in the linear regime, and derived the steady state equation 3 in the paper.
